Privacy Policy
This page says it plainly: what we keep about you, why we keep it, and how you get it back or delete it.
1. What we keep
Account profile: email, display name, avatar, and anything you fill in yourself on the Account page. A random device id generated on your own machine so we can recognise a session. Play history: which stories you played, what you chose, when, and which ending rank you reached. Your coin ledger. We do NOT keep readable passwords, and we never see your card details.
2. Why we keep it
To save your runs and hand them back exactly where you stopped; to build your own Statistics page; to settle coins and block double-crediting; to rank the leaderboard; and to trace faults when something breaks. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
3. What never leaves your device
Your session, your device id, and your favourites list live in your own browser storage. The favourites list in particular has never been sent to a server — clearing your browser data removes it, and it does not follow you to another machine.
4. Who we share with
Google, when you choose to sign in with a Google account (through Firebase Authentication). A language model provider, when a turn of your run has to be written — the content of the run is sent so the next scene can be generated. Beyond those two, we do not sell or trade your data.
5. What is public
Your display name and avatar are public on the leaderboard if you make the list. To stay anonymous, change your display name on the Account page; stories you create yourself are always private and never appear there.
6. How you delete it
Delete a single run: the In progress page. Delete all progress: the Settings page. Delete your account and the data attached to it: the Account page, Delete account — this cannot be undone and your coin balance goes with it.
7. Children
RoleLore is not intended for children under 13. If you find an account belonging to a child under 13, please tell us so we can remove it.
8. Changes to this policy
When something material changes we update the date at the top of this page and give notice in the app. Questions about your data go to hotro@rolelore.com.
